Want to include your dog in your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations? Sharing your Guinness is a bad idea, but that doesn’t mean your pup can’t have some fun on March 17.
These 3 DIY dog treats are simple to make, with healthy ingredients that support your dog’s health. That’s a good idea all year round!
🌈 Pot-of-gold banana cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown rice flour
- ¼ cup coconut flour
- 1 egg
- ⅔ cup plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 tsp turmeric
- healthybud Banana Crisps
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix the egg, yogurt, and turmeric in a bowl until evenly combined. Add the flour to the bowl, and combine the mixture until it is even and about the texture of play-doh.
Roll out the dough, and cut into circles with a shot glass or small cookie cutter. Place the ‘coins’ on a greased sheet pan, leaving space for them to expand, and bake for 15-20 minutes. The cookies should be cooked through and firm.
Take the cookies out of the oven. Stick a piece of healthybud Banana Crisp in the top of each cookie, and let them cool.
☘️ Emerald Isle frozen treats
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 green or yellow apple
- 1 cup raw spinach, washed
- 1 cup fresh parsley, washed
- healthybud Cod Skins, crumbled
- Water, as needed
Peel the banana and cut it into slices. Cut the apple into chunks, removing the seeds. Cut the stems off the parsley.
One ingredient at a time, add the spinach, then parsley, then apple, then banana to the food processor. Blend when you add each ingredient. Add water to the blended mixture as needed to get a thin and watery consistency.
Pour the blended mixture into silicone molds or an ice-cube tray. Sprinkle the crumbled healthybud Cod Skins on top, then freeze until the treats are solid.
🥬 Green superfood dog biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups almond flour
- ½ cup natural peanut butter
- 2 handfuls spinach, washed
- 2 tbsp water
- healthybud Beef Joint Booster, crumbled
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Add all the ingredients to a bowl, and mix into a dough with your hands. Add more water if the dough is too crumbly, or more flour if it’s too wet.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, and cut out cookies with a cookie cutter or slice the dough into bite-sized bars. Place the cookies on a greased sheet pan, leaving room for them to expand, and bake them for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, turn the oven down to 350 degrees. Bake the cookies for another 10-15 minutes or until crisp before removing from the oven to cool.
